Mutual Admiration and Friends for a Lifetime. I am going to miss these two boys.
I held it together last night with just a few tears, but knew the dam was about to open. Scrolling through the incredible photos Raquel Sefton had taken throughout the entire lacrosse season and again last night. This photograph captures it all. (And the tears came.)
These two amazing friends, Chase Betta and Quinn Burnett, teammates, friends and demons on the field, not to mention extremely PASSIONATE and caring. Pictured here, you can see Quinn and Chase happy, nostalgic, and proud of one another – they both received the 2015 Leadership Award.
Once again, Piedmont prevailed as the DVAL League Champions, now for 4 years running. Chase and Quinn are 2 of the Fabulous Five who started out their high school career on the Piedmont High School Varsity Team. It’s been an amazing journey. And I could not be more proud of these two boys and their accomplishments as well as their ability to motivate and cultivate a strong bond within their #lacrosse family. Quinn also received MVP (he tripled the goal setting record at Piedmont High an incredible feat! and Chase received the Heart and Hustle award for setting the record for most ground balls. The empty nest is slowly creeping upon us. I know it is the natural order of life, just as Mufasa discusses with his young son Simba in the story, The Lion King. But it certainly does not make it easy to let go.

Grandma and I arrived to Denver International 2 hours early. That never happens when I fly; always last to board, or more often than not, near misses. Or what happened this past May when we were traveling between London and Milan, the gate attendant had to hold the door for us as we were sprinting like OJ in the Hertz commercial or like we witnessed on the news fleeing from the LAPD.
Near misses and actual missed flights occurred when we were actually early and waiting for our flight. Either because we were waiting at the wrong gate or didn’t get the gate change memo. Don’t ask 🙂 Those are other stories.
