After a busy week of moving, buys week of Comcast, plumber…. we had a pool party for Chase…. he was totally surprised!  i just love it.  i almost gave up as i thought for sure one of his friends had told him.  Chase even had been at his friend Andrew’s house and the invitation was posted on the refrigerator and knowing Chase he had already had 4 glasses of milk.  Andrew was certain he had seen it, but he hadn’t.  As all parties go, there were hot dogs and chips, cupcakes and candles and a pinata that was not broken open in the ordinary fashion but was thrown off the roof onto the cement below.  Well, that’s one sure fire way to break open a Pokemon.  The kids had so much fun swimming and flipping, rafting and chatting.  A few girls were in the mix – it was summer, not the best time for a birthday party when summer travel plans interfere.  But ever since we moved into our new house with a pool it has been one big swim party everyday.  As a mom, i love it.  i just love having Chase and his buddies here, having fun, enjoying the pool and safe where i can see them.  What is not safe you may ask – skateboarding, the boys are so passionate about it.  It’s hard to fathom.  It is not easy although they make it look easy as they glide down Tunnel road from Skyline. More on that later.  HAPPY 14th Birthday, CHASE!!

I was in blue, the pool was blue, the napkins were blue, the cupcake writing was blue and the Pokemon pinata was blue.  Or turquoise.  Not planned but thought i’d mention it since i just noticed it. xoxo  The electrician just left and now I am ready for the guests to arrive.  And to see if Chase really is surprised. The girls playing a game of poker while Chase looks on.  Noni and Lisa, Max’s mom, Heidi, my partner and her daughter Sophia and Quentin’s wife too.  And Q is behind the camera as always.  Thanks Q !Dive  SPLASH  Jump  Thrash  Swim  Eat  Play  Greet

When i was in elementary school i used to ride in the parade every year on the back of my dad’s black t-bird.  My friend and i would throw candy. One time we had pluto on our car and other times the mayor of piedmont – a woman at that time.  My dad always said, “one day you will be the Mayor of Piedmont”.  Well maybe not the Mayor but having the Only Real Estate Office in Piedmont and always having our doors open to the community is pretty close to Mayor in my book.  Thanks Dad for the Vote of Confidence!  Who knows, perhaps i will be someday.

Happy 4th Piedmont – This year parade goer’s put their chairs out on Friday before the Sunday parade.  That is earlier than ever before.  We had purchased chairs for our clients, family and friends so we had to get out there and put out our chairs too.  It was a bright sunny lovely day.  A real summer day.  We had the Espresso Cart and bagels, cookies and face painting for the kids.  It was our 2nd Annual Highland Partners 4th of July Kick Off Party and it went off without a hitch.  Don’t forget the balloons and bags and bags of candy.  As many know, i grew up in Piedmont and when i was young 342 Highland, our office now, was the HIGHLANDER.  It was a candy and gift store.  Everyday at lunch or after school or even at brunch I would walk up with friends and my typical order would be a TAB and a RED LICORCE ROPE and when i was younger, a NOW AND LATER, a BIG HUNK or a Watermelon or Cherry Stick.  Where did the time fly! i swear i can remember it vividly!Enjoy breakfast and an espresso, compliments of HIGHLAND PARTNERS!!  I just love the activity, sharing and community involvement.  Join us anytime guys!Set up for the 4th of July is no easy task – thanks to Michele our office manager – see below in the HP Visor – makes lists and checks them twice – Napkins, CHECK, 4th of July Plates, CHECK, Balloons, CHECK, Facepaint, CHECK and soooo much more!  Let the set up begin and of course, clean up always follows. 27 King Avenue Preview Party – July 2010

I always like to create a buzz for my properties.  The latest is to include the service providers who have worked on the home as well as the designer.  I think it is really quite fun and it definitely expands the guest list.  It’s all about getting people thru the door and getting the word out.  You never know where that buyer may come from, who told them about it – and sometimes people who come to look for fun are the very ones who end up buying !  That has happened to me at least twice before.  Another property in Piedmont for 3.5 million and one in Claremont Pines for 2 million.  Impulse buyers?  Perhaps.  The preview reception at King with William Anderson the Interior Designer was really fun.  It was well attended and people enjoyed the home.  The indoor outdoor access with multiple French Doors and two lovely courtyards made the ease to entertain my guests seemless.  Thanks William for inviting your wonderful friends and clients!

Thanks to my colleagues at Highland Partners for assisting me and tending the wine bar.  More people came than expected.  A pleasant surprise!Food and Wind from Andronico’s in Berkeley on Shattuck.  Me, Mindy Sun, a Highland Partner and William Anderson, the Interior Designer for 27 King Avenue and so many more Piedmont and other Bay Area Homes.Me and Mary McCraeHollywood Style – Chateau Marmont – Hollywood Hills – 1940’s Actresses – That’s what i see when i step through the doors – On the other hand i also see Under the Tuscan Sun – the Tuscan Countryside, vineyards and handpainted vases, lemons and fruit trees.Bruce Wagg, Another Highland Partner, Realtor – and friends.  Thanks for helping out Bruce!Doug and Candace ( middle and right ) Doug Fuller, Highland Partner, Realtor and his fun and funny wife Candace – Social Media/Public Relations ConsultantDebbi and Adam www.debbiandadam.com  Thanks for coming!!! xoxo
