Energy filled the room at 1515 Main in Walnut Creek – 5 panelists were asked questions by our host, Casey Sullivan of Summit Funding. Realtors, guests and friends had a few questions of their own. It was a festive evening of sharing, mixing and mingling. Every year homeowners consider selling their home but oftentimes just sweep that thought to the side. Each home we list has its own set of issues we must address prior to market. Upon listing a home Adam and I walk through the entire home with our client detailing all the items we feel should be addressed. We do not ask the seller to commit to our long list of changes, repairs or updates at this time. However, our next step is to book inspections so we can gather information about the property and its condition; as well as to obtain bids on work we hope the seller will agree to implement. Here is a quick list of inspections we always obtain: Roof, Electrical, Furnace, Water Heater, Sewer Lateral, Termite, Foundation, Fireplace/Chimney as well as to obtain a complete Home Inspection. Debbi DiMaggio -021As we enter into the Fall and Winter Seasons, you may want to take care of a few things around your home. Here is a Home Maintenance Checklist to consider.

One of the most common issues that arise as we are getting our properties ready for market is that the Sewer Lateral is broken, off-set or cracked.  This is something that will eventually need to be addressed when you sell your home, but more importantly, cracks are evident you will want to replace the Sewer Lateral for the well being of your family.  Learn more on the EBMUD website.
