First Off

My Latest On-line Find, Cuyana.com

Cuyana features luxurious clothing, totes, handbags & accessories.

Cuyana is an online boutique with luxurious must-haves!  I recently purchased a few of their bright colored cosmetic travel cases as birthday and graduation gifts.  The next few items were all mine.  They were just too hard to resist and their prices, also very good.  The soft leather tote is ideal for my MacBook, so it was definitely a Must Have!  When I was in Beverly Hills a few people asked if it was Celine.  When I got back to the hotel I looked at my Pinterest Handbag Board and found the Celine Bag — a dead ringer!  On to my next two purchases for mua:  And, yes, another gift for me, I purchased TWO weekender overnight bags.  The second has not arrived as it hasn’t yet been manufactured.  I decided against taking the one I did receive on my trips to LA and San Diego as I did not want to check it in as it was too heavy to carry on and also just too nice and clean!  The weekender will, however, be perfect for our local overnight retreats to Sonoma, Napa, Carmel and Lake Tahoe.

Cuyana means “to love” in Quechua and every piece they design is imbued with their love for quality, timelessness, and beauty. They want to make pieces that make you smile- and that make you love your closet.

Take Note

The Lean Closet Movement as per the Cuyana Designers & Owners – I love it!

“A lean closet enables a fuller life- for ourselves and for others. Our Lean Closet movement challenges us to collect fewer, better things, and to donate the pieces in our wardrobes that are merely taking up space to those who need them. Sometimes when things aren’t adding up in your life or your closet, it’s time to start subtracting.”

How serendipitous that I just discovered Cuyana.  As tomorrow I meet with my organizer, Gail Kezerian, to begin purging what we don’t need, organizing what we have and donating what we can.  I can’t wait! Freedom!!

Understated Elegance in Beverly Hills

L’Ermitage, a Viceroy Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Beverly Hills on the beautiful tree-lined, Burton Drive — Best described as Intimate Luxury with Exceptional Service.  It was exactly the same as I had experienced upon my first stay just a few years earlier.

L’Ermitage is one of my favorite hotels in LA.  The service impeccable, the design – clean lines – and the entire experience can be described in two words, understated elegance.

Ideally located just a few blocks from Rodeo Drive to the left and Robertson Blvd to the right.  L’Ermitage is a full-service hotel that lives like an intimate boutique hotel but with all of the services and more of a larger hotel similar to my other favorite, the Beverly Wilshire.  Amenities include a spa, steam room, roof top pool, restaurant, lobby bar and gym.  I am moved to repeat myself by saying, the attentive service provided by each and every person in the hotel was truly stellar!  Thank you!!

CharityBuzz

An online auction site where you can bid on incredible experiences and other unique items.  The best part is that the proceeds go to a designated charity.

It’s Genius!!  Check it out!   www.charitybuzz.com

Here’s what one pleased partner had to say: This was our first time partnering with an online auction house to raise money for one of John’s favorite charities, and we were very pleased with the work done by CharityBuzz. They took our event to the next level, helping us to raise significantly more money for our cause. We look forward to a long and continued relationship.

Color Meanings

Blue is a color we all need in our life.  Paint your bedroom or office blue… read why.

Blue is serene and tranquil, the color of peace and contentment. Thanks to its calming effects, blue is the color choice for many hospital nurseries, and studies show that when sitting in a blue room, most people report feeling quiet and settled. If blue is your favorite color, you love harmony, are capable, reliable and sensitive and always make an effort to think of others. Blue is often the chosen color by one that is generally more conservative in nature. (Reprinted from Michael’s handout.)
