Colleagues not Competitiors // It Pays to Be Kind

It is so important, from the very beginning, to choose an agent who is a team player and a collaborator, not a winner-take-all competitor. For any agent’s long-term success, he or she should cultivate relationships with other agents in the real estate community, not alienate them. We should all work as a team, rather than as individual islands. If one agent has the listing, another is going to bring the buyer; that’s just how it works, so it pays to be kind. Companies like Facebook are moving towards an open office environment in order to encourage a more collaborative workplace.

In 2010, Highland Partners opened their Piedmont office with just that in mind. The Partners ( Heidi Marchesotti, Adam Betta, Mindy Sun and Debbi DiMaggio ) wanted to create an environment where there were no divisions between the Partners and their agents and believed the layout would allow everyone to learn from one another while creating a more positive office environment. highland partners piedmont expands to montclair // ribbon cutting ceremony a big success!

The HIGHLAND PARTNERS Grand Opening Ceremony was held with much fan faire and adulation.  Champagne was flowing and the outpouring community support was spectacular.  Their in-house bagpiper and Realtor, Kristen, started off the ceremony while hundreds of neighboring merchants, Realtors, friends and family showed up to the ribbon cutting.  The impressive new design definitely turns heads and is a welcome improvement to the Montclair shopping district.  For Partners Heidi Marchesotti, Debbi DiMaggio, Adam Betta and Mindy Sun, opening in Montclair was a natural fit. “We knew we needed to expand, and the timing was perfect – everything happened so organically.”

“The face of real estate has changed dramatically, and we are excited to be at the forefront of unsurpassed technology for both clients and agent services.”  Says Partner Heidi Marchesotti. “We have pulled together an impressive group of dedicated, full-time realtors with the utmost integrity and a passion for building better communities through education, service and involvement. You won’t find a more passionate group of professionals.” Says Adam Betta.

“Being part of Mason-McDuffie, the 17th largest real estate company in the country, while embracing the local, boutique style service and integrity our clients know and trust is truly the best of both worlds”. Beams Debbi DiMaggio.  “It provides our clients with the International Marketing exposure of the #1 Luxury International Real Estate company in the world, the local network of the #1 Real Estate Company in the East Bay for 8 years running, and of course, the talent and resources behind the HIGHLAND PARTNERS brand – in short, the most impressive real estate experience available.”

Home buyers and sellers seem to agree.  On a recent trip to the new office, the atmosphere was buzzing with the kind of energy that only success can bring.
