Colleagues not Competitiors // It Pays to Be Kind

It is so important, from the very beginning, to choose an agent who is a team player and a collaborator, not a winner-take-all competitor. For any agent’s long-term success, he or she should cultivate relationships with other agents in the real estate community, not alienate them. We should all work as a team, rather than as individual islands. If one agent has the listing, another is going to bring the buyer; that’s just how it works, so it pays to be kind. ( Excerpt from our book, the Art of Real Estate, Residential Real Estate Hand Guide. )

This was a blog from last year that I never found the time to post. It was our broker’s open on Sheridan Avenue in Piedmont. Meet some of my friends and colleagues from ours and other real estate companies as well as lenders, title reps, friends and neighbors. What a beautiful day and a lovely home. After the broker tour I presented to our regional partners at Mason-McDuffie who came as far as Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, Healdsburg, Sonoma and Napa to hear how we market our properties. It was a very enjoyable day. Thank you to all of my colleagues and real estate partners who continue to support us. We are always happy to return the favor.
